Hello, I would like to welcome everyone to a blog that was implemented to better serve our great citizens of Dyersburg and/or Dyer County. First and foremost I would like to thank all of the staff at the State Gazette for providing the Dyersburg Police Department the opportunity to have a blog.
The main function and goal of the current blog is to extend our mission of the Dyersburg Police Department. The mission of the Dyersburg Police Department is "We exist to serve the community." We truly believe the implementation of this blog will allow us to serve our community in a different manner. The blog will allow our department to exchange information with our community in a cyber environment. As with other blogs, different topics will be posted from time to time. Comments and clarifications on incidents that occur within the city limits of Dyersburg will be addressed as well. Please feel free to post questions and comments on matters that interest you. I will do my best to answer any questions that you have. I look forward to serving our cyber community. Comments Showing comments in chronological order [Show most recent comments first] |

Lt. Dobis,,,,,,
A lot of people don't like cops,,,,,, but most of them are lawbreakers....... you law enforcement people are the first defense for law abiding citizens against the thugs.......... The NRA is our second defense..............
Actually, YOU are your first line of defense, police generally find people after they committed a crime.
This is a great idea, thanks Lt. Dobis. You have always done a great job, and I am sure this will be no different.
I THINK THIS WILL THE COMMUNITY AND THE FAMILY OF THE POLICE OFFICERS. ITS A GREAT IDEA.
I think it depends on the situation if a citation is issued or not issued. Obviously, the law makers feel the same way or it would not be left to officer discretion whether to issue one or not issue one. I think I would be safe in saying in most cases the scare from accident alone is enough to make a person pay more attention while driving.
the difference between a cop and a lawbreaker is they never got caught
This is to dburgscoundrel---- . This is a personal opinion of which you are entitled, but, think of what it would be like without them.
I have been here my whole life,,i know these people, grew up with em,trust me,they are no different, you people know this, why give the self rightous pigs the satisfaction, all they want is your money and obedience, its the buddy system here,if your not their buddy,,YOU PAY,keep giving them your praise and we will if not already are a police state, thats a nice house you got there mike, wonder who paid for it?
