50
Happy week six of Easter. This week I hit a milestone. I turned 50. Crazy! I made it to half a century. Today I read about Paul leaving some of his converts. They knew they would never see him again. He told them to hold on to the faith, to build up each other, and to keep a relationship with their heavenly Father. The mission was not laid out but simple. Love each other and your God. If those two ideals guided their mission, it would be a holy one. Now, 2,000 years later I am learning from those that went before me. I'm standing on the shoulders of Giants who have been marytrs and carriers of this beautiful message. God gave me 50 years and for that I am so thankful.
Today think of blessings in your life. Here are 50 that I bet you can be thankful for just as I am: each day, each breath, family, friends, dogs, cats, food, vacations, birthdays, libraries, books, book clubs, the ability to read, teachers, mothers, fathers, religious sisters, priests & pastors, education, the Bill of Rights, the Constitution, churches that serve others, Civil Rights, veterans, children, husbands and wives, Non profits with hearts like Christ, volunteers that serve others, nature, gardens, summers by a swimming pool, flowers, clouds, wildlife, break from routines in the summer, a second cup of coffee at 9 AM with now rush, birthday cake for breakfast, wheelchairs and mobility devices, small towns, mom & pop shops, ancestors, space heaters, cozy blankets, email, snail mail, conversations, knowing and loving my neighbors, letting God carry my burdens, the ability talk, quiet time to be still, prayers and praying, and still being able to serve for the greatest good. There are 50 blessings for 50 years.
Thank you for all of the birthday blessings. My heart squeezed reading all of them.
