Tiger Woods is a frontrunner
Posted Monday, April 14, at 3:14 PM
Up front and on the line. Tiger Woods is a "Frontrunner"!! He has never come from behind to win a major and yesterday showed why he hasn't. The cup gets a little smaller, as well as the greens and fairways, when your trying to make up shots. He can say he "hit it well all week" as much as he wants is that why he was slamming clubs and cursing for 4 days. He "didn't putt well". Well guess what? That's what happens when someone is 5 strokes ahead of you and playing very well. Immelman showed that there are many good golfers out there on the tour and when they get hot no one can beat them. No slam for Tiger but the next time he is over par and out of contention I can guarantee one thing, the cameras will be on him more than the leader. Good for us. We can see all the club throwing and cursing we can handle. I get all that I need, of that, playing wolf on the weekend with my playing partners. By the way. If you think I am a Tiger hater, your wrong. I actually lost 40 bucks on him because I thought he would come back on Sunday. Guess I should have checked his track record first!!
Post HGH I wonder how many of baseballs front offices will consider litigation against some of their signees that aren't producing now. Could it be that when they were putting up the numbers, that enticed them to bring them into their organization, they were using HGH or steroids? I find it almost comical when I see teams like the Giants, who signed Barry Zito to a huge contract, sit back and watch him get shelled now. ...
Taking bets on Pac Man Does anyone want to place a bet as to whether Pac Man Jones plays in the NFL next year? I say he will and it is a shame that he is even being courted by one team! There is a man, paralyzed, and it is directly related to Jones and his involvement with the disturbance at a strip club. ...
Sporting Event/Honky Tonk I can see it now. The final four being played in front of 30,000 rabid fans and they are all cheering for their favorite team and they are watching the game through a fence or chicken wire or maybe even glass. Just like the wire that protects the band at a local Honky Tonk. ...
Irony in baseball Isn't it funny how ironic it will be when the, very, players that saved Baseball will not be elected to the Hall of Fame. The reason is that they admitted to or were suspected of using banned substances while playing the game. The players I am referring to are Mark McGwire, Barry Bonds, Sammy Sosa, Roger Clemens and Rafael Palmeiro. ...
Fool me twice... Indiana University hired Kelvin Sampson to coach their basketball team. Indiana is a storied program with national championships and a large, nationwide, following. Their fans are crazy for their team and pack the arena every night. The revenue this program generates is huge. ...
Last of the Old School is gone... Bobby Knight resigned, recently, and that marks the end of an era. He was the last of the "Old School" coaches that felt the in your face, disciplinarian type of coaching was the way to go. That didn't sit well with the new era people who feel that players should be coddled and pampered to the point that they feel they have no one to answer to and they call the shots, not the coach. ...
David vs. Goliath Classic story wasn't it? The cocky, arrogant, sickening, pretty boys got just what they deserved. All their, tongue in cheek, comments and all the smirks on their faces came back to haunt them. It seems like we get used to the rich getting richer and the haves beating the have not's, but when the tortoise beats the hare it makes for riveting television. ...
Giving props to Tiger I have to give Tiger alot of credit for the way he goes about his profession. Although, I don't care for the language he uses within microphone shot, he is one professional that refuses to let the rest of his sport catch up with him. I do feel he could be more of a role model for young people in the language department. ...
Real Packer Weather I have never been a big Packer fan but I have always loved the way Brett Favre plays the game. It would be nice to see him win another championship before he returns to the warm climate of South Mississippi. Before he can do that he must guide his team, this weekend, to victory in some pretty rough conditions. ...
