Irony in baseball

Isn't it funny how ironic it will be when the, very, players that saved Baseball will not be elected to the Hall of Fame. The reason is that they admitted to or were suspected of using banned substances while playing the game. The players I am referring to are Mark McGwire, Barry Bonds, Sammy Sosa, Roger Clemens and Rafael Palmeiro. After the last strike attendance was down and the game needed a boost. Then came the chase for Roger Maris' record with Sosa and McGwire. They were hitting tape measure shots on a regular basis and the attendance went up. Barry Bonds followed that with a record breaking year. The whole time his hat size was increasing with his homerun totals. He went from 185 lbs. to 220 in no time and all the while denying he was using any banned substance. Roger Clemens should have kept his mouth shut as well as Rafael. McGwire refused to say anything and still got the raw end of the deal. Have you seen him lately? He is half the size he used to be while playing. I guess Palmeiro is the only one of the bunch that it has been proven he used something. He was the one that said he "never" used anything. Having said all this I still don't think anyone really cared if they were using or not. The media had to have something to harp on so they got on the bandwagon and ran it in the ground. These were grown men that chose to use something that made them better players. No one can deny that. When the power numbers go down because of increased testing the crowds will dwindle and people will start griping that they want to see the moon shots like Sosa and McGwire used to hit. Even on the juice Bonds couldn't hit it as far as those two. Let them all use and even out the playing field and see how far they can hit it, how fast they can run, how fast they can throw it, and how long they can play!!!!!

If that were true, it doesnt explain how people like Paul Moliter, Griffey, Mays, Celemente, and Mantel could hit the ball just as far as anyone in the 90s
Hitting a round ball moving erratically at speeds approaching 100 mph with a round bat can not be improved by the injestion of any chemical substance, it's a God-given gift..................
You're right, Boon. Those banned substances do nothing to help the scientic art of hitting a baseball any "better". They do, however, help significantly in the amount of force behind the bat.
steroids and HGH do not make you hit the ball any better.
