Let me start this by saying that I grew up an Ohio State fan. The high school attended was founded by a former president of Ohio State. Our Alma Mater had the same tune, our colors were the same. Woody Hayes was the coach and despite his crazy antics he built a winning program and even won a national championship while he was there. That is why it pains me, in a way, to say that I, no longer, will pull for them in the sport of football. I am tired of getting fired up for a team that comes from an, obviously, inferior conference. So what if they come in to the bowl game, every year, with one loss. If they played in the SEC they would have at least 2 more every year. I came to this decision last night as I was watching their latest "adventure". After they went ahead, late in the game, I thought that a decent defensive stand would keep Texas out of the end zone and preserve a hard fought victory. NO WAY!!!!! With mere seconds left, they apparently thought it a good idea to blitz the whole, friggin, defensive unit and leave their receivers completely uncovered.
Maybe they won't notice must have been the thought at that time. My daughter could have completed the pass. Once again I sat there wondering what would feel worse....a bat to the kneecaps or watching one more Buckeye "comedy show". I don't mean to demean Texas in any way. They are a great team and probably were 1 second and a blown tackle away from playing for the national championship this Thursday. I just wish the, powers that be, at State would make better decisions. I burned every piece of Ohio State memorabilia, I own, and will never buy another......at least till they win another bowl game. Well, the only thing that has been drawing any interest to the Big 10 the past 10 years has been that blasted East Coast media anyway. It might help if OSU played in a conference championship game. At least it wouldn't seem as if they were taking up space in the BCS. Neither OSU or Penn State deserved to be in the BCS. I would rather have seen a Texas vs. USC game, and I'd rather watch paint dry than watch a Big 10 game.
