PrioritiesPosted Tuesday, March 3, 2009, at 1:14 PM
I recently read an article that dealt with a coach, in New Jersey, that knelt with his players before games to pray. Get this, the courts said he appeared to be pushing religion. Uhhh yea!!!! I'm sure he was and I applaud him. How much more bad things have to happen, in our country, before everyone starts pushing religion? It seems like the courts have more important things to do than pick on a coach who, obviously, has good moral character. What is wrong with it? What can it hurt? I bet if he fired up a joint, while they played the National Anthem, there would be less said about it. Our priorities are screwed up people. I never thought there would come a day where I would be surprised to hear prayer before a competition. I heard prayer before the start of the NASCAR race and got goose bumps. I shouldn't have to be surprised it should just be done. Where are we headed people? Now I am not going to tell you that I am the best Christian that ever lived. I have my faults but I still know when things are going down tubes. Look around and see if we don't need to be praying. One place where I feel that it is very important is on the athletic fields. There you can find many young people of high moral character and we tell them everyday to do what is right even when no one is looking. What's wrong with showing them what is right even when everyone is looking? My hat is off to you coach! Don't give in. We need more like you.
