The Chosen One chose the wrong pathPosted Tuesday, June 2, 2009, at 4:18 PM
Once again I see where a big time sports celebrity had a chance to do the right thing and dropped the ball. Thanks Lebron James. I see your jerseys in every store and most of the kids I see, in public, have something with your name on it. Those same kids mimic your every move and now they will walk away when a hand is offered to them after a contest. Good sportsmanship is a dying art and you just accelerated it 10 times over. I would venture to say that most people that make the money you do and live a lifestyle only few live, could drum up a handshake or an "attaboy". I just wish that kids these days had more positives in their life. You have the platform. You have the cameras attention. Take advantage of it. I know it hurts to lose but just like I always told my players after a win or defeat, "show some class and shake their hands". It never hurt anybody and didn't cost a thing.

Yeah, nothing like a big book of fables and fairy tales to give young people a heavy dose of "reality."
Teach them the Golden Rule, not a bunch of made up nonsense.
Too bad that most role models are human. If kids spent more time in church and with parents reading the Bible they could know a role model that would never fail them.
