Fifth Annual Christmas in Sorghum Valley

Local residents got to enjoy a Christmas scene straight out the early days of Dyer County on Thursday evening at the annual Christmas in Sorghum Valley at the Dyer County fairgrounds. The event will continue Friday, Dec. 7, through Saturday, Dec. 8 from 6 to 9 p.m. The event is free and open to the public but in the spirit of giving, the Dyer County Fair Board will be collecting donations of canned goods, animal food, coats, toys, blankets, hearing aids and eyeglasses to support the following organizations: * Matthew 25:40 * The Union Mission * The Salvation Army * The State Gazette's Coats for Kids program * The Dyersburg/Dyer County Humane Society * The Lions Club
