The E.D.G.E. Conference for Women

Lisa Whelchel was the keynote speaker at the E.D.G.E. Conference for Women on Saturday, Aug. 24. The event, held in the Lannom Center from 8:30 a.m. until 3 p.m., featured the E.D.G.E. Mart shopping expo, lunch, a fashion show, door prizes and a presentation by actress, author and public speaker Lisa Whelchel. Best known for her roles as Blair Warner on The Facts of Life and as the survivor voted Fan Favorite on Survivor: Phillipines, Whelchel has also developed a ministry for mothers and women through books and speaking engagements. She has served women in her ministry since she became a stay-at-home wife and mother at the conclusion of the Facts of Life television show in 1988. Her appearance in Dyersburg included a heartfelt and personal presentation on how important connections are in the lives of all women and her own journey to feel more connected as a child of God, a mother, a wife and a friend. The event was sponsored by the Tennessee Small Business Development Centers of Dyersburg State Community College and the REED Center at the University of Tennessee at Martin.
