The Dyer County School System recently held a systemwide Red Ribbon Week Essay Contest to promote alcohol, tobacco and drug-prevention awareness. This year's theme was "Our Future is Bright, No Drugs in Sight". The winners were chosen from hundreds of submitted essays and they received cash prizes. The cash prizes were donated by the Dyer County Sheriff's Office in support of the national Red Ribbon Week, which supports all aspects of staying drug free. The winners also got the opportunity to read their essays to family and friends during a presentation at Three Oaks Middle School. Also in attendance were Dyer County Sheriff Jeff Box, Rep. Bill Sanderson, and Dyer County school officials.
