2014 Dyer County Peace Officers Memorial Day

On Thursday, May 15, residents, community leaders and law enforcement personnel gathered on the lawn of the Dyer County Courthouse as the clock struck the noon hour. Lt. Kenny Simpson of the Dyer County Sheriff's Office and patrolman Stan Langley of the Dyersburg Police Department were the featured speakers of the 2014 Dyer County Peace Officers Memorial Day, with Dyer County Sheriff Jeff Box, Dyersburg Mayor John Holden and Dyer County Mayor Richard Hill also participating in the memorial service. Box and Hill lowered the American Flag posted on the Courthouse lawn in honor of those officers who gave the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty, including two officers in the Dyer County community.
