Police seek information about camper trailer fire, meth paraphernalia

Dyersburg Police are investigating a case in which this camper trailer caught fire on Thursday evening and meth-making materials were found nearby. The trailer was reported to be on fire at the corner of 1st Street and Highway 104 West in Evansville on Thursday evening. Dyersburg Police and firefighters rushed to the scene to extinguish the flames. While on the scene, a neighbor pointed out a box to officers that reportedly contained items to make methamphetamine. E911 board receives update on CAD mobile data project

The E911 board had little to discuss at their monthly meeting on Tuesday evening, but did receive an update from Dyersburg Emergency Operations Director Mark Grant on where the CAD mobile data project stood. Grant told the board that the CAD mobile data project hardware for the Dyersburg Police Department has shipped and he expects to receive it by the second week in November. City sanitation committee discusses equipment purchases, paint collection site

The Dyersburg sanitation committee held a called meeting on Friday morning to discuss capital outlay purchases by the city's sanitation department as well as to hear a request from Dyer County Litter Coordinator Ersley McLemore. Sanitation Superintendent John Damesworth opened the meeting by informing the board that he would like to forgo purchasing the $230,000 front loader already approved in the 2012-2013 budget and instead replace the scales at the city landfill, which cannot hold calibration and are causing the city to receive "red tags" from the state upon inspection.. ...

Dyer Co. early voting numbers higher than 2008

Early voting wrapped up last week with Dyer County voters already outpacing the 2008 early voting numbers for the Nov. 6 election. Woman sentenced to 10 years in prison for 2010 vehicular homicide

A Dyersburg woman was sentenced to 10 years with the Tennessee Department of Corrections after being sentenced for vehicular homicide for a 2010 motor vehicle accident that she caused in which a 71-year-old woman was killed.
