Dyersburg man arrested on 3 counts of animal cruelty

Robert Shaft Haynes, 59, 704 Grant St. was arrested on Wednesday, Nov. 7 on three counts of cruelty to animals after an investigation by the Dyersburg Police Department found that he was not properly caring for his three horses. A violation of T.C.A. 39-14-202, the offense is a type A misdemeanor punishable by up to one year in jail or a fine not to exceed $2,500 for each offense...

Police search for suspect after Thanksgiving eve shooting on Lee Street

Dyersburg Police are searching for a suspect after gunshots rang out on Lee Street in Dyersburg on Wednesday evening, leaving one man wounded and having to be airlifted to the Med. The incident occurred around 7:45 p.m. on Lee Street, between Rucker and Fumbanks Street, just behind the McIver Apartments. Police are not releasing the victim's name, but say his injuries did not appear to be life threatening...
