Newbern church hosting 'Giving Tent' Thursday

Newbern First United Methodist Church is hosting a 'Giving Tent', which is an outreach program for those in the community. To assist local residents, the Giving Tent will be giving away winter clothing items at the church (on West Main Street in Newbern), on Thursday, Nov. 29, before and during the Newbern Christmas Parade. They will provide (free) winter coats, gloves, and scarves for anyone in need. The group will also be serving free hot coffee, chocolate, cookies, and other goodies for anyone who stops by. Organizers invite everyone to come by and get some warmth and Christmas joy before or during the parade. From left: Jerry Leach, the Rev.
