He was a graduate of Branham and Hughes Military Academy and the University of Tennessee of Knoxville, where he was a member of ATO. He was a 1936 graduate of the University of Tennessee Medical School and did his residency in Jersey City, N.J. He established a practice in Dyersburg. He was an avid golfer, playing in the senior division, and an outstanding sportsman, hunting, fishing and horse riding.
Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Friday in Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg with Dr. Larry Blakeburn officiating.
The family will receive visitors at 2-3 p.m. Friday at J.W. Curry & Son Funeral Home.
