Joseph Robertson 'J.R.' Enochs

Joseph Robertson "J.R." Enochs, 86, of Newbern, died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2003 at his residence. He was a farmer and landowner in Newbern and a former partner of Lyn-Lou Studios of Memphis, a member of Newbern First United Methodist church since 1939, the men's Sunday school class and held many leadership roles on the administrative board, finance committee and the board of trustees. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, was recognized in 1948 by The Progressive Farmer Magazine for his advances in farming and he attended the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Johnson's Funeral Home with the Rev. Waymon Hogue officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Newbern. The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
