Dr. Lamar A. White

Dr. Lamar A. White, 80, of Friendship, died Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2002 at his residence.

He was a retired physician, a World War II Army veteran and a member of Friendship United Methodist Church. He served as doctor for Friendship for 48 years, served as alderman and mayor of Friendship, chairman of the Friendship School Board and Crockett County Medical examiner. He was a member of West Tennessee Medical Association, American Medical Association, Phi Chi Medical fraternity and the American Legion.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Friendship United Methodist Church with the Rev. Frank Gardner and the Rev. Raymond Boston officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors from 4-9 p.m. today at Friendship Funeral Home.
