She was a homemaker and a member of Hawthorne Baptist Church in Dyersburg.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. today in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Davis officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg.
Survivors include her husband, Freeman Phenix; five daughters, Dora Dean McDonald and Mary Lou Hendrix, both of Dyersburg, Debbie Loraine Gilliland of Newbern, Linda Tucker of Ripley and Kay Phenix Crandall of Obion; three sons, Alonzo Lane Battles III of Dyersburg, Danny Battles of Martin and Tommy Battles Moore of Hohenwald; two sisters, Mary Ruth Mitchum of Ripley and Sinnie L. Pugh of Greenfield; a brother, Thomas Brown of Ripley; 23 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Steven Allen Crumley, Kevin Gilliland, Brent Gilliland, Brandon Gilliland, Mark Graves, Jim Stockdale, Greg Armstrong and Jerry Pugh.
