He was a retired dairy farmer and an employee of Gibson Farmers Co-op, a member of Miller's Chapel Church of Christ, graduate of the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, Korean War Army veteran and a tutor for Dyer County Literacy Program.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Miller's Chapel Church of Christ with Oscar Bruce officiating. Burial will be in Miller's Chapel Cemetery.
The family will receive visitors at 5-9 p.m. today at Dyersburg Funeral Home.
The widower of Helen Moore Bell, survivors include two daughters, Jane Bell Scott of Dyersburg and Kate Bell Alleger of Clinton, Mo.; a brother, Joe Bell of Springfield; and three grandchildren, Erin Carhart, Ben Alleger and Alex Scott.
Pallbearers will be Novis Fisher, Jim Putman, Tom Bell II, Brad Baker, Dwight Cox and Ernie Roberts.
The family requests that any memorials be directed to Miller's Chapel Church of Christ or Dyer County Literacy Program.
