He was an insurance agent, a member and former deacon of First Baptist Church, Mason, Shriner, a member of Scottish Rite, Army veteran of World War II with the rank of technical sergeant, served in the 30th Infantry Division D-Day and was injured in France, former Rotarian with 18 years perfect attendance, lifetime membership in the Million Dollar Roundtable, former member of Dyersburg Association of Life Underwriters, former member of Tennessee & National Association of Life Underwriters, former member of Estate Planning Council of Northwest Tennessee, holds sales records for Life and Health Insurance Production with Business Men's Assurance Company, was a cattleman and a former member of the Polled Hereford Association.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Raymond Boston officiating. Entombment will be in Fairview Cemetery.
The family will receive visitors at noon today at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Dezene Roberson; a daughter, Judy Davis of Tupelo, Miss.; two sons, Tom S. Roberson of Houston, Texas and Jerry Mack Roberson of Dyersburg; a sister, Pam Cobean of Clearwater, Fla.; a brother, Millard Roberson of St. Clair, Mich.; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Howard Guthrie, Macie Roberson, Danny Fowlkes, A.T. Garner, Choc Buchannon and Sam Reed.
The family request that any memorials be directed to First Baptist Church of Dyersburg.
