Rev. Robert A. Rutledge

Rev. Robert A. Rudledge, 89, of Dyersburg, died Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2003 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.

He was a retired building contractor and a minister, a member of the United Pentecostal Church for over 50 years, active in youth camps and home and foreign ministries and a former member of Tennessee Army National Guard. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Chester and the Rev. Earl Dickerson officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors at 5:30-8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife, Lillie Mai Armstrong Rutledge of Dyersburg; a daughter, Betty R. Cooper and husband, James, of Dyersburg; a son, Darrell Wayne Rutledge of Nashville; six grandchildren, Jimmy Cooper and wife, Kathy, Mike Rutledge, Phoebe Rutledge Smith and husband, Steve, Cheryl Cooper Bennett and husband, Steve, Steve Rutledge and wife, Dora and Ash Lee Rutledge; and eight great-grandchildren, Edie Catherine Cooper, Jenny Cooper, Daniel Smith, Tyler Smith, Victoria Rutledge, Emily Bennett, Kyle Bennett and Alexia Rutledge.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy C. Cooper, Michael W. Rutledge, Stephen C. Rutledge, Steve Smith, Jeff Bennett and Kirk Kirkland.

The family request that any memorials be directed to Dyersburg First United Pentecostal Church or Tennessee District U.P.C. Youth Camp, Lake Benson, Dickson, TN.
