The retired owner of Morris Furniture, he was a 50-year Mason with Hess Lodge No. 93 where he served as Past Worshipful Master when the new lodge was built. He was a member and a Sunday School teacher at First United Methodist Church and was a driving force in building the cross atop the bluff that can be seen at night along Highway 78.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. today at the Dyersburg Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery. Dr. Phillip Cook will officiate. Visitation will occur prior to the funeral beginning at 1:30 p.m.
