Willard D. Countess

Willard D. Countess, 72, of Fayetteville, Tenn., died Sunday, Feb. 15, 2004 at the Lincoln County Hospital in Fayetteville. He was born in Bogota in 1931.

His parents were William H. (Bill) and Lola Bennett Countess. After growing up in Bogota, he lived and worked in Chicago, Ill., for many years where he married Virginia Thornton. They returned to Tennessee to live in his wife's hometown, Fayetteville.

He served in the U. S. Army in the 1950s and was stationed in Germany for a tour of duty.

Funeral services were held Feb. 17 at Higgins Funeral Home in Fayetteville. Burial followed in Kirkland Cemetery of Fayetteville.
