He was a forester for Mississippi Valley District with U.S. Fish Environmental Synergy Inc., an Army veteran and a member and deacon at Brownsville Baptist Church.
Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Brownsville Baptist Church. Burial will be in Brownsville Memorial Gardens. Brownsville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Baker Stewart of Brownsville; a daughter, Courtney Stewart Stockett of Madison, Miss.; a son, Dr. Baker Lee Stewart of Dyersburg; four sisters, Gladys McNair of Birmingham, Ala., Adalene Brady of Oxford, Ala., Mary Barcheski of Los Angeles, Calif. and Viola Dobbs of Wellsboro, Penn.; a brother, Loyde Stewart of Los Angeles, Calif.; and four grandchildren.
The family request that any memorials be directed to the American Cancer Society or Brownsville Baptist Church.
