Doctor Joe M. Goss, 67, of Cordova, died Thursday, May 27, 2004 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis.

He was a dentist, a graduate of the University of Tennessee at Memphis College of Denistry in 1960, was captain in the United States Army in 1962-64, an assistant professor at the University of Tennessee College of Denistry until 1999, presently a dental officer for the Bureau of Prisons, Federal Correctional Institution, a member of the Richard Doggett Dean and Marguerie Taylor Bean Honorary Odontological Society and nominated to the Imhotep Society, awarded Outstanding Educator and Appreciation Certificate by the Senior class, ASDA Faculty Excellence Award and Chancellor's Instructional Development Award.

Services were at 10 a.m. Monday at Germantown Parkway Chapel. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery in Newbern.
