Mertie Marie Stephenson

Mertie Marie Stephenson, 79, of Knoxville, formerly of Dyersburg, died Monday, June 28, 2004 at Loudon Health Care Center.

She was retired teacher of Montgomery County School System with over 30 years of service, an active member of Central Baptist Church in Bearden where she was a member and past president of Martha Sunday School Class, an active member of Good Life Senior Choir and Nursing Home Visitation, a graduate of Ouachita Baptist College with a bachelor degree in education and was an Army cadet nurse during World II.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Rose Mortuary Man Heritage Chapel with Doctor Larry Fields officiating. Burial will be in Edgewood Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors at 1-2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
