Hebert Leroy McKee

Hebert Leroy McKee, 74, of Bedford, Ind., formerly of Dyer County, died Monday, July 5, 2004 at his residence.

He was a retired employee of Budd Company in Gary, Ind. and from the Bedford Public Library, he was an elder at the Lake Station Church of Christ and was serving as a deacon at Central Church of Christ in Bedford.

Services will be at 11 a.m. at Cresthaven Funeral Home in Bedford with Brother Marvin Maupin officiating. Burial will be in Cresthaven Memory Gardens.

The family will receive visitors at 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife, Ollie Joann Moody McKee of Bedford, Ind., two daughters, Linda Canada and husband, Douglas, of Bedford and Charlotte C. Jordan and husband, Robert, of Knightsdale, N.C.; two sons, Larry L. McKee and wife, Phyllis, of Portage, Ind. and Paul Eugene McKee of Bedford.; two brothers, David McKee and wife, Sue, of Merillville, Ind. and Alford McKee and wife, Faye, of Dyersburg; seven grandchildren, Jeff McKee and wife, Sarah, of Baghdad, Iraq, Andrew McKee of Portage, Ind.; Allison, Jesse and Cara, Mathew, Mark and Brian, all of Bedford; and a great-grandchild, Jeff McKee II.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Peggy Garner; and a nephew.
