Jerald Hamm, 57, of Dyersburg, died Saturday, July 10, 2004, at his residence.

He was the owner of Hamm Investigative Agency and an apprentice funeral director with Curry Funeral Home.

A 1965 graduate of Dyersburg High School, he attended Austin Peay State University in Clarksville and served in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1969 in Germany.

He was a member of Cornerstone Church of God in Dyersburg and took great pride in being instrumental in the reconstruction of the church after the building was struck by a tornado in 2003. He was also associated with Northside Assembly of God in Jackson.

He was an employee of Heckethorn Manufacturing Company for 26 years where he served as vice president and director of human services from 1988 to 1996. He was a member of the American Society of Personnel Administration from 1971 to 1996, a member of the human resources advisory committee for Tennessee Manufacturing & Taxpayers Association, the company representative of the Tennessee Safety Congress, a member of the Dyer County Job Opportunity Committee, co-chairperson of the Dyer County Job Service Employer Committee and company representative of the Dyer County Chamber of Commerce. He was a member of the Tennessee Funeral Directors Association.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. today at Cornerstone Church of God with the Rev. Randy Carter officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
