Della May Morris

Della May Morris, 91, of Newbern, died Tuesday, July 13, 2004, at Spring Gate Nursing Home & Rehabilitation Center in Memphis.

She was a retired schoolteacher for Dyer County Schools and a member of Newbern First United Methodist Church where she served as pianist for many years.

Graveside services will be at noon Thursday at Yorkville Cemetery with the Rev. William T. Jowers officiating.

The family will receive visitors from 10-11:30a.m. Thursday at Johnson Funeral Home.

Survivors include two granddaughters, Sherry Morris Wroblewski of Arlington and Sara Morris Mareno of Nashville; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, E.W. "Fats" Morris; a son, David Frank Morris; and her parents, James Edward and Eva May Frye Scott.

Pallbearers will be David Puraty, John Uitendaal, Nicholas Anderson, Cole Harrell, Keith Wroblewski and Richard Keener.

Honorary pallbearer will be Elbert Petty.

The family requests that any memorials be directed to Newbern First United Methodist Church.
