He was the retired executive vice president of First State Bank in Henderson.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, July 27, at Henderson Church of Christ with Ben Flatt, Joe Williams and John Rickard officiating. Burial will follow in the Henderson City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Casey Funeral Home from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Monday.
Miller was born in Dyer County, the son of the late Ollie H. and Irvia Lee London Miller. He attended Dyer and Gibson County schools and graduated from Dyer County High School in 1947. He completed several certificate programs from the American Institute of Banking.
He began his banking career with Security State Bank in Newbern in 1947. He was associated with the First National Bank of Memphis for 15 years and later Security State Bank of Dyersburg, prior to joining the staff of the First State Bank in Henderson as vice president in 1970. He retired as executive vice president and a member of the board of directors in 2002.
He was a founding member of the Board of Directors for AGAPE Child and Family Services. He was a past president and member of the Henderson Civitan Club. He was a member of the Freed-Hardeman University Advisory Board and Development Council for several years and served on the Chester County Finance and Budget Committee.
He served as an elder at the Henderson Church of Christ from 1985-1997 and as the church treasurer for nearly 20 years.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1950 to 1952 in Germany.
