Jewell Dean Chandler Griggs

Jewell Dean Chandler Griggs, 77, of Newbern, died Wednesday, July 28, 2004 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.

She was a homemaker.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Dyer County Memorial Gardens with Olin Kern officiating.

The family will receive visitors at 5:30 p.m. today at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include two daughters, Joyce Yarbro of Dyersburg and Leslie Sawyers of Newbern; two sons, Jerry Klaja of Hobart, Ind. and Johnny Dickerson of Milan; a brother, Roy Chandler of Paris; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Griggs; a sister, Joyce Dawson; a brother, Paul Chandler; and a grandchild, Tony Klaja.

Pallbearers will be James Yarbro, Darren Dickerson, Duane Dickerson, Corey Sawyers, Randy Wolf and Jerry Rhein.

The family requests that any memorials be directed to the American Heart Association.
