He was a retired employee of the State of Tennessee and farmer, a World War II veteran where he served as a corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps, member of New Salem Baptist Church in Mason Hall, member of Mason Hall Masonic Lodge No. 200, member of the Mason Hall Order of the Eastern Star No. 395, lifetime member of the DAV, lifetime member of the VFW, member of Dyersburg Lions Club and Mason Hall Ruritan Club.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Johnson Funeral Home with the Rev. Waymon Hogue officiating. Burial will be in New Salem Cemetery in Mason Hall.
The family will receive visitors at 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Green Park of Trimble; a daughter, Rosalind Elaine Park Green of Trimble; two sons, Richard Earl Park of Trimble and Russell Edward Park of Jonesboro, Ark.; two sisters, Joy Park McCrillis of Somerset, Ky. and Helen Park Stark of Memphis; a brother, Curtis Park of Sommerville; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be members of Mason Hall Masonic Lodge No. 200. Honorary pallbearers will be Al Gore, Ned McWhirter, John Tanner, Cotton Ivy, Bob Hunt, William E. Hammett, David Rose, Rickey Freeman, Billy Mooney, John Troutt and Chris Young.
The family requests that any memorials be directed to Order of the Eastern Star Chapter No. 395, Mason Hall Masonic Lodge No. 200, New Salem Baptist Church, or Trimble First Baptist Church Building Fund.
