Sylvia Virginia Flatt Scobey, 71, of Newbern died Friday, August 20, 2004 at Dyersburg Manor.

Born on May 11, 1933, she was a homemaker. She was a member of the Trimble First Baptist Church and the Trimble Women's Club.

Graveside services were Sunday in McCorkle Cemetery with Dr. Bill Oakley and Robert Ell Hurt will officiating. Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
