He was a retired employee of Bohn Aluminum and a U.S. Navy veteran.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Johnson Funeral Home with Paul Hogue officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Newbern.
The family will receive visitors at 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Survivors include two daughters, Lois Rasschaert of Riner, Va. and Lisa Swearingen of Ridgefarm, Ill.; two stepdaughters, LuAnn Kinney of Oakwood, Ill. and Kathy Stitt of Danville, Ill.; a stepson, Jed Taylor of Danville, Ill.; a sister, Peggy Joyce Carman of Vallejo, Calif.; nine grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sonna Lou Carman; and his parents, Noel and Mildred Dennison Carman.
Pallbearers will be Coy Lynn McDonald, William McDonald, Ben Swearingen, Andrew Rasschaert, Robin Swearingen and Kyle Taylor.
