He was a retired postal service rural mail carrier, a Marine veteran of World War II , a member of the American Legion of Halls Post, a member of rural mail carriers association, a secretary of Men's Bible Class and a Sunday school teacher.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Halls First Baptist Church. Burial will be in Halls Cemetery. Halls Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Myrtle E. Chambers; two daughters, Lynda Rae Davis of Indianapolis, Md. and Karen L. Adams of Como, Miss.; a son, Raybon C. Chambers of Richardson; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The family request that any memorials be directed to Baptist Building Fund or the Veteran's Museum at Halls Army Base.
