She was a homemaker, a member of Union City First United Methodist Church, an active member of the former Susannahs (now known as the Wesleyan Fellowship), a group of Methodist pastors' spouses.
Graveside services were at 11:30 a.m. today at East View Cemetery in Union City with the Rev. John Archer officiating. White-Ransom Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include two daughters, Judi Cultra of Union City and Ginger Ward of Dyersburg; three sons, John L. Deal Jr. and Bill Deal, both of Memphis and Kenny Deal of Arkansas; a brother, Glen Morrison of Memphis; 15 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John L. Deal Sr.; and her parents, William Vance and Amiee McHenry Morrison; a sister, Lois Morton; and a brother, Bill Morrison.
The family requests that any memorials be directed to the Alzheimer's Association.
