Julia Maqruder Whitson

Julia Maqruder Whitson, 96, of Madrid Bend, Ky., formerly of Tiptonville, died Saturday, Dec. 11, 2004 at her daughter's residence in Nashville.

She was a landowner, merchant and cattle rancher, a member of Tiptonville First United Methodist Church, former sheriff of the election for Fulton County, Ky., former member of Fulton County Levee Board and former member of Fulton County Historical Society.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Johnson Funeral Home with the Rev. George Butler officiating. Burial will be in Tiptonville Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors at 5:30-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
