Van Thomas Stone

Van Thomas Stone, 77, of Ridgely, died Wednesday, June 1, 2005, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

He was a retired Lake County Sheriff, former chief deputy of Lake County Sheriff's Department, former police chief of Ridgely and a former truck driver, a member of Abundant Life Fellowship Church and an Army veteran of World War II and Korean War in the Medical Corp.

Services were Saturday at Abundant Life Fellowship Church in Ridgely with the Rev. David Gray and Ray Goodgine II officiating. Burial will be in New Haven Cemetery in Ridgely. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
