James Rice Smith, 52, of Friendship, died Saturday, June 4, 2005 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

He was a farmer, a member of Friendship Church of Christ and district board member of the Soil Conservation Service.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Friendship Funeral Home with Dan Clevenger officiating. Burial will be in Bellevernon Cemetery.
