Every season must come to an end, and for the Dyersburg Dixie Angels All-Star squad that end came last Thursday night in Waverly.

The Angels lost to Madison County, but managed a third-place finish in their first-ever state tournament appearance.

This group of had many stars and produced a total team effort that kick-started their impressive postseason run. With solid pitching from MacKenzie Walker, Ali Evans and Tiffany McCraw combined with strong hitting from Sydney McNeill and clutch hitting from Ashten Maldonado, Dyersburg was a team to be reckoned with throughout the state tournament. The Angels never seemed to quit, utilizing bunting by Anna Claire Mansfield or Aubrey Andrews, good base running by Madelyn Chilcutt, Hannah Langley, Abby McBride and Anna Tarkington to force each opponent to fight for each run.

The team's defense was particularly notable, keeping the Angels in each and every game. Hannah Wright played each game at catcher for the Angels and made several crucial plays while guarding the plate.

The team would like to thank everyone for their support, particularly parents and friend who drove out to Waverly to cheer for the Angels.
