He was a farmer, a member of Hathaway Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, church treasurer, Sunday school teacher, was a magistrate, served on tax equalization board of Lake County and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Services were Tuesday in the Ridgely chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Raymond Boston officiating. Burial was in New Haven Cemetery in Ridgely.
