He was a vice-president of Caruthersville Gin Company, a farmer, a member of Hayti First Baptist Church, a World War II Navy veteran serving on the U.S.S. Ticonderoga and was present in Tokyo Bay as a member of the occupation force during the surrender of the Japanese to the Allied Powers, a member of Pemiscot County CB Club, the Motorcycle Club and the Triangle Boat Club.
Services were held Friday in the First Baptist Church in Hayti, Mo. with Dr. Mike Melton and Bro. Don Campbell officiating. Burial was in Maple Cemetery in Caruthersville, Mo. John W. German Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
