TNState funds may finance start of local drug court

Proposed funding for drug courts in Governor Phil Bredesen's 2006-2007 budget could help get a drug court in Dyer County off the ground.

Bredesen has proposed $3.5 million to fund existing drug courts and create new drug courts around the state.

"If these funds become available, we'll pursue them aggressively," said Rob Hammond, drug court coordinator for Dyer County.
