Casino may sell for $45 million

Missouri gambling officials are negotiating to sell Casino Aztar in Caruthersville to a Mississippi concern.

Isle of Capri Casinos, headquartered in Biloxi, Miss. "is in the due diligence stage" to purchase the river barge casino 20 miles west of Dyersburg for $45 million, said Isle director of corporate relations Jill Haynes.

The Missouri Gaming Commission has operated as custodian of the casino since November 2006, when former owner Aztar Corp. was sold.
