City starts online bill payment program

Wednesday, June 27, 2007
Beginning this July, Dyersburg residents will be able to pay their water, gas, sewer, garbage and property taxes through a new link on the city's Web site.

"We hope this will be another customer service we can offer to people in Dyersburg, so they don't have to get out and come in," said city of Dyersburg Information Technology Manager Leslie Moore. "I've been wanting to do this since I started this job four years ago. I pay most of my bills online and I think most people are starting to. I hope there will be a big interest in it. It's going to go live on our Web site July 1."

For a small fee, payments can be made by debit card, credit card or checking account and the funds will be electronically transferred from the customer's bank and posted to the correct city of Dyersburg account.
