Margaret Hassell

Margaret Hassell, of Dyer, died Friday, Sept. 14, 2007 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.

She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.

Services were at 1 p.m. Monday at Karnes & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Billy Criswell and Bro. Ira Singleton officiating. Burial was in Yorkville Cemetery.

Survivors include two sons, J.B. Hassell of Dundee, Ill. and Larry Hassell of Memphis; two grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Hassell; and her parents, Azzie and Pearl Almond.

Virginia Mae Isbell

Virginia "Virgie" Mae Isbell, 102, of Newbern, died Sunday, Sept. 16, 2007 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.

She was a homemaker, seamstress and gardener and a member of Assembly of God Church.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today in the chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home with the Rev. Lyndel Fisher and the Rev. Keith Shelton officiating. Burial will be in East View Cemetery in Union City.

Survivors include a daughter, Frances Shelton and husband, Bill, of Newbern; three grandchildren, Sherrie Thompson and husband, Clark, of Newbern, Keith Shelton and wife, Donna, of Springfield, Mo. and Misty Darst and husband, Nathan, of Chetopa, Kan.; five great-grandchildren, Lindsey Thompson, Kelly Thompson, Chelsea Shelton, Mackenzie Darst and Kayleb Darst; two step-great-grandsons, Chad Petersen and wife, Melissa, and Corbin Petersen; three sisters-in-law, Nora Lee Donahoe and Margie Linder, both of Sellersburg, Ind. and Dottie Isbell of Selmer.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, R.L. Isbell; her parents, Charles Henry and Sarah Lou Sipes Tull; three sisters, Bessie Moore, Bertha Tull and Faye Tull; and three brothers, Lee Tull, Hollis Tull and Henry Tull.

Pallbearers will be Clark Thompson, Chuck Tull, Cecil Thacker, Jack Isbell, Danny Isbell, Danny Echols and Ken Miller. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Isbell, Walt Moore, Sterling Smothers, Roy Donahoe, Ray Donahoe and Tully Moore.

Charles McClain

Charles McClain, 64, of Wynnburg, died Sunday, Sept 16, 2007 at his residence.

He was a retired forklift operator, a member of Wynnburg Baptist Church, former employee of Colonial Rubber Works for over 18 years, former employee of Algee Farms and was an antique car hobbiest.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Wynnburg Baptist Church with Dr. Ralph Buckley and the Rev. Abe Silliman officiating. Burial will be in New Haven Cemetery in Ridgely. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive visitors at 5-8 p.m. today at the church.

Survivors include his wife, Bonnie McClain of Wynnburg; a daughter, Melease "Lisa" Turner of Georgia; two sons, Charles "Bubba" McClain of Jackson and Terry McClain of Wynnburg; his mother, Maybell McClain of Wynnburg; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Danny McClain; and his father, Boyd McClain.

Pallbearers will be George Hall, Charles "Bubba" McClain, Bobby Norris, Casey Norris, Bruce Clark, Jesse Decker and Ronnie Hays.

Martha A. Bryant

Martha A. Bryant, 83, died Monday, Sept. 17, 2007 at Regional Hospital in Jackson.

Lester Roy Cunidff, 85, of Jackson, died Monday, Sept. 17, 2007 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

Eric Colin Lomax, of Dyersburg, died Saturday, Sept. 15, 2007 at his residence.
