Martha A. Bryant

Martha A. Bryant, 83, of Tiptonville, died Monday, Sept. 17, 2007 at Regional Hospital in Jackson.

She was a retired teacher in the Lake County School system, a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church in Tiptonville where she was active in the UMW, a member of Lake County Retired Teachers and Delta Kappa Gamma Society for Women Educators, a charter member of Tiptonville Main Street and a friend of Tiptonville Public Library.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church in Tiptonville with Pastor Marita Burkeen, Bro. Ralph Gunter and Bro. Jerry Leggett officiating. Burial will be in Tiptonville Cemetery. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive visitors at 5-8 p.m. today at the church.

Survivors include a sister, Gladys McKeel of Tiptonville; a niece, Lynne Ayers; a nephew, Andy Andrews; a great-niece, Blair Anders; and five great-nephews, Chris, David and Shannon Ayers and Jeff and Alex Andrews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Robert E. Bryant; and her parents, Ryce and Anita Alexander.

Pallbearers will be Albert Markham, Larry McCain, Troy Ferrell, Tommy Lovell, Skipper Pierce and W.C. Haynes. Honorary pallbearers will be M.D. Kirkpatrick and Dale Rogers.

The family requests that any memorials be directed to Tiptonville First United Methodist Church, 536 Church St., Tiptonville, TN 38079 or the Reelfoot Rural Ministries.

Lillie Ann Craig Gorman

Lillie Ann Craig Gorman, 98, of Hot Springs, Ark., died Thursday, Sept. 13, 2007 at Quapaw Care & Rehab Center.

She was a retired telephone-answering service operator and a charter of member of Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Services were at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Hot Springs with Pastor Richard Hall officiating. Burial was in Delight, Ark. Hot Springs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include two sons, Robert L. Gorman and wife, Ann, of Dyersburg and Lanny K. Gorman and wife, Beverly, of Hot Springs; a sister, Florene Craig Wirges of Sherwood, Ark.; five grandchildren, Chris Gorman and wife, Sherry, of Trimble; Angie Riley and husband, Reed, of Dyersburg, Lane Gorman of Little Rock, Ark. and Greg Gorman and Russell Gorman, both of Hot Springs; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Charles Lawrence Gorman; and her parents, Samuel and Olive Bell Doss Craig.
