Elma Grace Arterbridge, 81, of Dyersburg, died Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2007 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Buck Chapel Church in Maury City with the Rev. Joe Lewis officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The family will receive visitors at 6-8 p.m. today at H.H. Funeral Home in Dyersburg.

Survivors include a daughter, Peggy Pierce; two sons, Leroy Arterbridge Jr. and Marvin Landingham; four sisters, Nola, Bessy, Bernice and Betty; and a brother, Joe Lewis.


Jane Ozment, 50, of Dyersburg, died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2007 at her residence.

She was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. today in Fairview Cemetery with Dr. Phillip Cook officiating.

The family will receive visitors 12-1 p.m. today at Curry Funeral Home.

Survivors include her mother, Marilynn Ozment of Dyersburg; a sister, Carole Ozment Whitnel and husband, Charlie, of Dyersburg; a brother, Billy Ozment and wife, Karen, of Dyersburg; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Maxie Marie Ozment; and her father, William F. Ozment Sr.

Pallbearers will be Robbie Heckethorn, Jimmy Lanier, John Lanier, Jere Ozment, Parks Thurmon and Charlie Whitnel.

The family request that any memorials be directed to the Betty S. Parker & Tommy H. Lipford Humane Society, 1120 East Court, Dyersburg, TN 38024.


Mable F. Shelton, 77, of Dyersburg, died Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2007 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.

She was a beautician and a former employee of Dyersburg Fabrics and Penguin USA, a member of First Baptist Church, but attended Fowlkes Methodist Church.

Services were at 1 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Bro. John Lowrance officiating. Burial was in New Haven Cemetery in Ridgely.

Survivors include three daughters, Gloria F. Bryan of Dyersburg, Lisa A. Butler of Newbern and Shannon M. Mayo of Belle Chasse, La.; two sons, Kent P. Shelton of Portland, Ore. and Graylen H. Shelton of Houston, Texas; special friend and companion, Eugene Stutts; three sisters, Helen Simms of Springfield, Mo., Esther Sutton of Lebanon, Mo. and Betty Taffer of Raven Den, Ark.; eight grandchildren, Rob Allen, Jeremy Shelton, Jordan Shelton, Dylan Shelton, Christopher Curtis, Kevin Curtis, Cody Mayo and Sarah Mayo; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Don Hollis and Grady Shelton; three sisters, Pearl Cagle, Ruby Bettis and Rose Mooney; two brothers; and a grandchild, Noah Walton Mayo.

Pallbearers were Lewis Shelton, Mike Shelton, Mike Heathcott, Phillip Heathcott, Dallas Castleman Jr., Olen Shelton and Rusty Canada. Honorary pallbearers will be Donnie Bryan, Russ Butler, Michael Mayo and grandsons.

The family requests that any memorials be directed to Fowlkes Methodist Church, American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
