Larry Brewer, 71, of Dyersburg, died Saturday, Nov. 10, 2007 at his residence.
He was a retired electronics technician and a former staff sergeant in the Air Force.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Bro. Carl Mills officiating. Burial will be in Dyer County Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive visitors at 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Brewer; a daughter, Suzanne Criswell and husband, Tim, of Lawrenceburg; a son, David Brewer and wife, Joan, of Dyersburg; his father, Doyle Brewer of Dyersburg; three sisters, Ann Grace of Amarillo, Texas, June Cooper Mertens of Memphis and Norma Anderson of Newbern; a brother, John Brewer of Marston, Mo.; four grandchildren, Cannon Criswell, Max Criswell, Katie Criswell and Bailey Brewer.
He was preceded in death by a son, Billy Brewer; and his mother, Margaret Emogene Brewer.
Pallbearers will be Chuck Walden, Seth Walden, Josh Walden, Karl Dasher, Joey Pritchett and Clayton Rogers. Honorary pallbearers will be Nick Reeves and David Allen.
The family requests that any memorials be directed to West Dyersburg Church of Christ Building Fund or American Cancer Society.
Annie Laurie Newsome, 86, of Newbern, died Saturday, Nov. 10, 2007 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
She was a retired officer manager for Dyer County High School after 32 years, a graduate of Montreat College in Blue Mountain, NC, a member of Newbern Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Cumberland Presbyterian Women, PTO, Newbern Women's Club and Thursday Night Bridge Club.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Newbern Cumberland Presbyterian Church with the Rev. George Butler officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Newbern. Johnson-Williams Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include two daughters, Margaret N. Lents of Cape Girardeau, Mo. and Laura Wyatt Weaver of Trenton; a son, Will Newsome of Newbern; a sister, Emma Williams of Columbus, Miss.; a brother, James A. Shipman II of Meridian, Miss.; and six grandchildren, John Michael Foster, David Stewart Foster, James C. Lents, Walter R. Lents, Jefferson P. Lents and Brittney Nicole Via.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James B. Newsome; and her parents, James H. and Zula Grizzell Shipman.
Pallbearers will be Charles Whitnel, Bill Shipman, Jack Hutching, Tommy Hendrix, Wayne Zaricor, Jimmy Michaels and Curtis Holmes Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Dan Smith, Tom Taylor, Tim Bivens, Earl Willoughby, Richard Ross and James L. Ashcraft.

Ralph Norwood, 76, of Dyersburg, died Saturday, Nov. 10, 2007 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.
He was a retired employee of Federal Aviation Administration, attended Harvest Baptist Church and was an Air Force Veteran of the Korean War.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today in Dyer County Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Waymon Hogue officiating. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Jo Norwood of Dyersburg; three sons, Gary L. Norwood of Memphis, Ronald B. Norwood of Nashville and Stanley Glen Norwood of Leeds, England; a brother, Elton Norwood of Prattville, Ala.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Edgar and Pearl Gertrude Norwood.
Pallbearers will be Gary Norwood, Ronald Norwood, Jonathan Norwood, Malcolmb Norwood, Ethan Norwood and Phillip Norwood.
Porter Gyron Rice, 64, of Newbern, died Saturday, Nov. 10, 2007 at his residence.
He was a graduate of Friendship High School, served as an assistant to the late U.S. Congressman Robert A. "Fats" Everett. He attended Murray State University and graduated from Tennessee Bankers Association Resident School of Banking at Vanderbilt University and the Resident School of Banking of the South at Louisiana State University in Baton Rogue. He was a banker, serving the communities of Friendship at Friendship Bank, First State Bank & Trust Company in Tiptonville, Home Banking Company in Selmer and recently was vice president at Citizens, City & County Bank in Trenton.
He was a member of Kiwanis Club, the Lake County Jaycees and American Cancer Society, Rotary Club and Boy Scouts of America and a member of Tigrett Methodist Church.
