William O. Armstead, 82, of Brownsville, died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2007 at Regional Hospital in Jackson.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Westside Church of Christ in Brownsville. Burial will be in Harrington Cemetery in Brownsville. Rawls Funeral Home in Brownsville is in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive visitors at 5-7 p.m. Friday at Jones Street Church of Christ in Newbern and at noon Saturday at Westside Church of Christ.


Mildred L. Chandler, 75, of Newbern, died Monday, Dec. 3, 2007 at Wesley Care Center in Dyersburg.

She was a retired employee of GE Sylvania and a member of Fairview Baptist Church.

Services will be at 3 p.m. today in the chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Elrod officiating.

The family will receive visitors at 11 a.m. today at the funeral home.

Survivors include four daughters, Janie Canada and Pat Simpson, both of Dyersburg, Carolyn Chandler Wadham and husband, Donald of Maryville and Debbie Wolf and husband, Randy, of Newbern; a sister, Inez Everett of Newbern; a brother, Wilson Sawyer of Paris; seven grandchildren, April Canada, Scott Simpson, Stefanie Scarbrough and husband, Chris, Kelly Haynes and husband, Chris, Mandy Wolf, Brett Wadham and Mark Wadham; and three great-grandchildren, Kayla Beth Haynes, Hunter Scarbrough and Holder Haynes.

Pallbearers will be Steve Everett, Barry Hart, Benny Hendren, Hayden Kelly, David Pillow and Richard Cantrell.


Kathleen Epperson, 89, of Dyersburg, died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2007 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.

She was a homemaker.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Cornerstone Church of God in Dyersburg with the Rev. Lynn Drumwright officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg.

The family will receive visitors at 5-8 p.m. today at Curry Funeral Home and at 10-11 a.m. Thursday at the church.

Survivors include three daughters, Kathy Baucom of Newbern, Marie Metcalf of Drummonds and Hazel Williams of Helena, Ark.; four sons, Ronnie Epperson of Newbern, Robert "Junior" Epperson and James L. Epperson, both of Dyersburg and Joe Neal Dennis of Flint, Mich.; 31 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. Epperson; three daughters, Mary Hugh Essary, Maxine Harris and Rosie Bailey; three sons, Jackie Dennis, Larry Dennis and Harold Epperson; her parents, William and Nora Dee Davidson; three sisters, Pauline Rose, Clara Birmingham and Niner Hillard; and four brothers, Herman Summers, Howard Summers, Leory Summers and Eugene Summers.

Pallbearers will be Eric Wells, John Baucom, Robert Jay Wells, Timmy Gurley, Hunter Gurley and Keith Dennis. Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons.

The family requests that any memorials be directed to the Community Cancer Fund, P.O. Box 1002, Dyersburg, TN 38025-1002.


Elbert Lee Henry, 89, of Dyersburg, died Monday, Dec. 3, 2007 at Wesley at Dyersburg Nursing Care.

He was a retired employee of Heckethorn Manufacturing and a member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Dyersburg.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Curry Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Arnold Robbins and the Rev. James L. Lawson officiating. Burial will be in Dyer County Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive visitors at 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife, Liddie Magaline Henry of Dyersburg; a sister, Katie Marie Mustang of Decatur County; two grandchildren, Sherri R. Chadwick and Brad Holbrook, both of Dyersburg; three great-grandchildren, Matthew Knox of Tiptonville and Amanda Chadwick and Levi Holbrook, both of Dyersburg; and a great-great-grandchild, Riley Brooke Knox of Tiptonville.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Shirl P. Bargery; his parents, Robert and Maddie Williams Henry; a sister, Alma Turner; and five brothers, Mac Henry, Earnest Henry, John Henry, Teddy Henry and Tommy Henry.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Autry, Jeremy Robbins, Ronnie Gill, Rance Permenter, Mackie Enochs and Doug Henry Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Scotty Peevyhouse and Dal Henry.


Jimmy Jasper Lynn, 73, of Newbern, died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2007 at his residence.

He was a retired plumber inspector for the Arkansas Health Department and a retired member of the Missouri National Guard.

Services will be at 1 p.m. today in the chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Gardner officiating. Burial will be in Yorkville Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Sue Edmiston Lynn of Newbern; a daughter, Sherry Clark of Hayti, Mo.; four stepdaughters, Joyce Ceola and Judy Ceola, both of Springdale, Ark., Terryll Holland of Dyersburg and Betty McCorkle of Finley; a sister, Patsy Lynn Brantley of Lake Village, Ark.; three brothers, Bobbie Coleman of Lakeland, Robert Earl Lynn of Caruthersville, Mo., and Talmadge Lynn of Collierville; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alerd and Opal Marie Johnston Lynn; and two brothers, Billy Lynn and Calvin Lynn.

Pallbearers will be Farris Cagle, Tom Holland, John McCaffrey, Mark Sykes, Robert Veal Jr. and Tim Ware.


Albert B. Marsfelder, 93, of Phelps, N.Y., formerly of Friendship, died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2007 at his residence.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Francis Church with the Rev. Curtiss officiating. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors at 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. today at Cheney Funeral Home in Phelps, N.Y.

The widower of Marge Marsfelder, survivors include three daughters, Joanne Pierce and husband, Dan, of Friendship, Mary Sharon Wilson and husband, John, of Rochester, N.Y. and Karen Dyrlund and husband, Dean, of Canal Fulton, Ohio; a son, Jack Marsfelder and wife, Pamila, of Olean, N.Y.; a sister, Jane Somerville of Phoenix, Ariz; 12 grandchildren including Sandy Woodruff and husband, Brian, of Alamo and Robert Lipker and wife, Shannon, of Friendship; and 21 great-grandchildren including Alicia, Lucas and Devin Lipker, all of Friendship.
